I’ve just returned from an utterly fabulous trip to Rome. I’ve spent three days in one of the most amazing Cities in the world – the place is incredible!
Due to the shortness of the visit we crammed in as much as possible so that we didn’t miss much. To be honest there’s no way that you can see everything in three days. Everywhere you look there’s history just waiting to be discovered by the tourist – there’s just so much of it.
Vatican City is draw-droppingly beautiful. The ruthless bastards have managed to strip all sorts of wealth over the centuries and the Vatican itself and San Peitro’s Basilica are just dripping in gold and art. It’s truly stunning to visit even if you’re a complete Heathen like me.
My favourite building in Rome is the Pantheon. To say it was built nearly 2000 years ago and it’s still standing now (despite the Vatican’s need for marble etc) shows the genius of the Roman architects. The dome in there is enormous and whereas the exterior of the Pantheon is really showing it’s age (again, thank the various Popes) the interior has to be seen to be believed.
I could go on but I’ll just upload some photos instead. You can find them in the Gallery.
