Flickr migration underway

I’ve started to migrate all my images over to flickr from my coppermine gallery. This will take some time as I have to re-enter all the images descriptions manually and I’m lazy.

I’m doing this because I want to reduce the load on my hosting account and I’m starting to get pissed off at people on Myspace hotlinking my images despite my best endeavours to prevent this using .htaccess techniques. Hotlink from flickr all you like, plenty to chose from there.

It’s got a pretty funky interface and I like the ease-of-use aspect, plus I’ve paid for the Pro account so I can pretty much upload as much as I like.

This entry, for instance, has been blogged from there rather than from my normal blog admin panel. That’s a nice touch.

You’ll also notice the Flickr badge in the sidebar. Clicking on an image there will take you to my gallery.

I’ve got a number of sets (albums) up already but I’ve not finished uploading yet, not have I completed editting the image descriptions. I’ll get there soon.

In the meantime, have a surf around and let me know what you think.
