The ‘fists and sparks’ emblem is an important part of my history. It’s a symbol that us RAF types wore on our arms to signify we worked in electronics.

I think the emblem started off as a ‘wireless operator’ designation, but perhaps expanded to include other trades later on. I know that Trade Groups 2, 3, 4 and 11 are/were able to wear it on their uniforms.

I was Trade Group 3 – telecommunications technician. Proud to serve and proud to wear the fists and sparks.
