The heyday of the traditional British pub is long gone. The numbers of pubs is declining rapidly; they are becoming increasingly demolished or converted to other uses.
One such pub is (was) the Red Cow on Gregory Street. It wasn’t a particularly nice-looking drinking establishment, and I don’t remember seeing it open, but it is now an ex-pub; flattened and unloved. The only things left are a few bits of graffiti-stained walls and this old sign.
I pass it on my daily commute and mourn its passing.
