Ruby and I went for a cycle over to the Attenborough Nature Reserve today. This is the first time we’ve attempted this, but with Ruby getting taller and having a bigger bike I thought it was about time we went a little further.

The nature reserve is absolutely wonderful. If you haven’t been, then you really should. It’s an old gravel pit that has been repurposed for wildlife, and it has some lovely lakes and surrounding countryside.

There is one tree near the Nature Centre that is great for climbing, so Ruby decided to stop here for a few minutes. Up she went, like a monkey.

There was a time when I’d have had to climb up after her to get her down, but she’s much more assured on the branches now.

Here’s the colour version of Ruby’s photo, plus one of the tree.

The clocks going back at the weekend mean that my commute home is starting to coincide with the oncoming gloom. It’s also starting to get a bit chillier, so there’s a definite autumnal feel about it.

The canal is barely lit along the path, so it was nice to see some light coming from these workshop windows. These buildings are quite old a very knackered, but have a certain charm.

This image was edited initially within in the iOS Photos app, where I applied the ‘long exposure’ setting from the original Live photo. I do like the effect its had on the water.

Here’s an earlier edit I did before converting to black and white. I will definitely do colour photos for my daily project next year.

Beeston Library is an amazing space, and has got even better since its recent renovation. We are so lucky to not only maintain a local library, but for it to be improved.

There seems to be a campaign involved called Inspire that is sponsoring some of the activity here, and there is evidence of this in the gallery upstairs. There are photos of musicians and theatrical artists performing, along with original artworks.

I love this sort of thing. Fantastic.

It was windy last night and the local trees decided that was a good time to shed all of their leaves. The cycle path on the way to Lenton is pretty much buried.

This cycle path is a bit rubbish too – so many tree roots creating ridges and holes. Cycling down here is a bumpy business.

This series of buildings are often overlooked along University Boulevard, as they are a little back from the road and obscured partly by trees.

They are impressive, fascinating buildings that are very distinctive. I’m not sure how many companies are based here, but it does look like a brilliant place to work.

I love the patterns in the decking, along with the long grass that I presume is being used for ecological reasons.

You can’t tell how amazing the colours are from the above photo, so here’s a colour one for comparison purposes. This is straight from my iPhone 8 Plus without any adjustments.
