Mondays is maths homework day. Ruby has a large sheet of arithmetic to fill in – mostly multiplications and divisions, the sort of thing a seven year-old should be capable of.
A few months ago she was really struggling with these tasks, but with some perseverance and a bit of encouragement she’s now doing really well. She polished them off in no time.
When she’d finished she then checked her answers using Jo’s old calculator. It was me that typed ‘8008’ into it. I’d have gone for ‘8008135’ but the lounge lights weren’t strong enough to give a consistent display.
