I have a number of possible routes into work, mostly on foot, and some of these take me down to the canal. I decided to walk this way this morning, because it is a longer journey and my sister and challenged me to a step contest on Garmin Connect. I couldn’t let her win, so thought I would gather some extra steps by going out of my way.
This is also a much nicer walk than just heading down through the underpass in Dunkirk. It’s normally quiet, but you do have to pay attention to the appearance of cyclists. I like to have my headphones on and they can surprise you a bit when they whizz past on some of the narrow paths.
There are a few interesting buildings on the far side of the canal, and this is one. I liked the symmetry of this image, along with the graffiti and reflection in the water.
By the end of the day I’d managed to accumulate over 21,000 steps! My sister, on the other hand, outdid me. The bugger!
