I think that our fridge-freezer is a bit knackered.
I’ve had some peach schnapps in the freezer for a while. It’s good to keep it in there – when you take it out it’s smoother and tastes nicer than if it was at room temperature. However, that’s not quite the result I got with mine over the weekend. I got more of a Slush Puppy version, which was actually nice but kind of hard to get out of the bottle.
I’ve no idea how cold it has to get to freeze schnapps (ok, about -13 degrees C according to Google) but I’m pretty sure that our freezer isn’t supposed to go that cold. It looks like our thermostat is bust.
Oh well, more expense for our landlady. One good reason for renting.
